Charlotte Colbert. Possible Landscapes

Published on the occasion of her solo exhibition in conjunction with the 2026 Venice Art Biennale, this book presents the surrealist sculptures by the British-French artist Charlotte Colbert, installations suspended between dream and imagination, substance and symbolism, fiction and reality. In Possible Landscapes, the artist engages with the city by creating startling installations conceived specifically for Venice, works that are the tangible results of Charlotte Colbert’s spirited approach to life and positive exuberance. Richly adorned in meaningful gestures, Possible Landscapes is a mystical blend of Nature’s appreciation, beliefs and spiritual awakening, bringing us back to familiar references while pushing the boundaries of the multiple ways of perceiving reality in a context built by contrasts that reflects Venice itself. Fully illustrated, the monograph documents Colbert’s alchemic practice that creates universal worlds of dream and contemplation, action and invention rich in inspiring metaphors and original symbols.
