Daido Moriyama in Colors - Limited Edition (Yokosuka)

For the first time, the colour photographs of Daido Moriyama, one of the most important figures in contemporary Japanese photography, are presented in an extraordinary limited-edition artist’s book. Curated by Filippo Maggia, this exceptional project is designed for collectors seeking the magic of a precious and rare object, destined to increase in value over time. Three limited editions, each featuring a different image, with 100 copies per edition. Each copy is housed in a black cloth-covered slipcase (45 × 35 cm), designed and produced exclusively for this Limited Edition. An iconic image by Daido Moriyama, depicting a young girl running through one of the narrow alleyways still found in Shinjuku today. The photograph embodies the restless, curious and insatiable spirit of the Japanese master — his voracious quest, his constant desire to look beyond, always ready to respond to the city’s incessant stimuli, a vortex beyond control. As Moriyama himself stated: “I think my photography consists of capturing some of these subjects from within the mass.”
