The Landscape of Waste

Today, waste seems to represent new material for the project, not only as a material but as an issue that requires a review of the tools of transformation: from analysis to graphic representation, to the very definition of architecture and landscapes. The rest as a palimpsest on which to layer new realities, separate waste collection as a strategy for understanding systems, the etymological reading of the term as a starting point for establishing spatial and bibliographic coordinates, the collection of fragments of the past and their new arrangement, repetition as another form of listing waste and its new meaning are the possibilities that the project implements to construct a second possibility of meaning for what has been rejected. Positioning, decomposition, multiplication, arrangement, and repetition are organisational structures for working with the part and no longer with the whole, with the scrap and no longer and only with the finished and completed work in itself. The text proposes scenes and scenarios, strategies and tactics, physical and theoretical constructions for working with the remains of modernity, yearning for new life from the rubble.
