Yayoi Kusama è una delle artiste più importanti e famose del Giappone, amata da generazioni e pubblici diversi, capace di meravigliare e stupire. Artista poliedrica, è conosciuta in tutto il mondo per i suoi pois e per le sue installazioni colorate dalle forme insolite, come le zucche. Infinito presente è un omaggio alla sua originale e inconfondibile arte, in occasione della retrospettiva a lei dedicata al Palazzo della Ragione a Bergamo; fulcro del progetto è Fireflies on the Water (2002) una delle sue Infinity Mirror Room più iconiche, proveniente dalla collezione del Whitney Museum of American Art di New York.
